Gibraltar Coins & Precious Metals :: Risk Disclosure

Risk Disclosure

RISK DISCLOSURE

All investments involve risk. Some of these risks are unique to the rare coin market.

Before you commit funds to the purchase of rare coins, get all the facts, including but not limited to:

  1. Rare coins are not a suitable investment for those seeking current income or those who cannot assume the risks of a potentially volatile market.
  2. Although we may accept your credit card for the purchase of rare coins, it is not advisable to go into credit card debt to finance your portfolio.
  3. The coin market is a free and open market that responds to the pressures of supply and demand in both directions. Be prepared to hold your coins for five years or more. Use only discretionary funds. Many rare coins have done quite well over the past 20 years. Of course, past performance is not an indicator of future results.
  4. Gibraltar Coins maintains a buy\sell spread for many rare coins. The difference between these prices is dependant on a number of factors including our own current stock, and the market for that particular coin at that time. Gibraltar Coins does not guarantee that we will be market makers for a particular coin at any given point in time.
  5. Gibraltar Coins & Precious Metals, its principals and representatives cannot guarantee a profit, or guarantee that losses will not be incurred as a result of following its recommendations. Our principals and representatives may have positions in the coins we recommend.

GRADING STANDARDS:

Grading is a subjective art, not a science. Grading opinions can vary from person to person and from grading firm to grading firm. PCGS and NGC have been leaders in standardizing grading, but there is no guarantee that these standards will not change in the future. Examine each coin carefully and satisfy yourself as to its quality.
